Virtual window restrictor surveys
Our virtual survey is carried out typically via WhatsApp video, allowing us to assess your windows remotely and discuss your requirements with you.
During the call, we can advise on the most suitable window restrictor, considerations for different window types and whether the existing provision is appropriate. Where relevant, we’ll also highlight if a Jackloc solution isn’t the right option for the requirement.
Following the call, we’ll confirm our recommendations and advice in writing. A more detailed report can also be provided where required.
On-site window safety surveys
For a more detailed assessment, our on-site survey includes physical testing of the existing opening window safety solution, where one is already fitted.
The existing restrictor is tested in situ against the static load element of BS EN 13126-5:2011 + A1:2014, the minimum performance requirement referenced for conformance. We also assess the installation and record details including:
- Type of restrictor, fittings and fixings
- Window opening gap
- Condition and suitability of the existing solution
- Whether the restrictor can be overridden
- Any other relevant observations
A full survey report can then be provided, giving you a clear record of the findings and recommendations.
