  • Jackloc Restrictors Compliment Your Standard Window Locks

    Jackloc window lock

Jackloc window restrictors provide a vital safety feature in both public buildings and private residences. The original Jackloc cable window restrictor was specifically designed and engineered to restrict window access and reduce the risk of falls. It restricts window opening to a maximum of 100mm, rendering it improbable for any person or child to fall through. The current product range includes a choice of universal key lockable restrictors, permanently fixed cable restrictors, push and turn restrictors and the new, folding key-lockable window restrictor.

There are many window restrictors available on the market, all varying degrees of quality. The Jackloc cable window restrictor not only meets, but exceeds all the necessary rigorous safety testing procedures, ensuring it is the best product of its kind.

The Benefits of a Jackloc Window Restrictor

    Child Safety

In rooms where child safety is a concern – window restrictors are essential, as numerous injuries and fatalities occur annually due to accidents involving open windows.

Fresh air is not only pleasant in the home, it is essential to our health and wellbeing. Ventilation distributes outdoor air into a room or building, diluting pollutants originating from the building, as well as allowing them to leave. Window restrictors provide much needed fresh air to circulate whilst maintaining a safe environment.

    High-Rise Residences

Window safety should be a key feature in every high-rise building, regardless of whether there are child occupants or not. Jackloc window restrictors are the ideal solution, providing safety for all the residents.

    Public Buildings

Buildings used by members of the public such as health services, educational establishments, local authority buildings etc. all fall under general health and safety laws with the governing body held responsible for the safe guarding of its occupants – window safety is an important consideration.

    Exceptional Safety Standards

    British and European Safety Standards

The Jackloc is meticulously tested to meet BS EN14351-1:2006 and BS EN13126-5:2011 standards. BS is an abbreviation for British Standards – the UK’s national standards controlled by the British Standard Institute (BSI). EN is a standard adopted by the European Community controlled by the European Committee for standardisation (CEN).

The products are also UKAS tested to the old standard BS 6375: 2 1987 – meaning Jackloc products can resist a static load of up to 3,000 newtons (305 KG). (UKAS is a national UK accreditation body appointed by the government to assess organisations which provide testing, inspection, certification and calibration services).

The Jackloc is OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management certified – this is a British Internal health and safety management system specification.

Other certifications include the Salt Spray corrosion test method, it measures the corrosion resistance of materials and their surface coatings. Jackloc restrictors are tested in accordance with ASTM.B117-07 (the internationally recognised salt spray standard) and evaluated to BS EN 1670:2007 (the British and European standard).

International Safety Standards, Testing and Recognition

Jackloc products are internationally tested to ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management. ISO – The International Organisation for Standardisation, providing specifications and regulations to ensure products are not only fit for purpose, but also safer and more reliable.

The products are approved by the City of New York Health and Hygiene Department – Window Guard Policy and Acceptance Board – in conjunction with Schuco USA and were also the first window restrictors to be approved by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.
